It's been 29 years since the deadliest act of domestic terrorism on U.S. soil. Today, #WeRemember the lives lost and survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing. 💜
After years as a travel nurse, Taylor Elms, RN, decided it was time to find a place for him and his family to call home. "We started traveling with our daughter when she was four months old, so she has grown up in a pack-and-play," said Taylor. When choosing a community for his three-year-old daughter to grow up in, Taylor remembered how much he enjoyed his year working in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Norman Regional HealthPlex back in 2022 and decided to make his career as a Norman Regional healer permanent. He really liked the surgeons he worked alongside and the culture created by his co-healers. Ultimately, Taylor says he was drawn to Norman Regional because of its upcoming expansion completion and the opportunity to help grow his team of nurses and scrub techs. He calls it Norman Regional's "phoenix moment"! Nurse Taylor works on open heart surgery and some orthopedic cases. He says they are busy, but he loves the rush! His favorite part though, is the immediate relief patients have after procedures. Oftentimes working in the CVOR is a thankless job, since patients might only interact with Taylor a little before the operation, but that's okay with him — he loves what he does to take care of our patients' hearts! ♥ Welcome home, Taylor! We know you had job options that span multiple states and we are honored that you chose to come home to us! ✨
The future of healthcare is outlined in our Inspire Health plan, an initiative designed to modernize and expand medical services in our community. Watch to see each step of our Inspire Health plan: ➡️ Addition of a freestanding emergency department ➡️ Development of the historic Porter campus with a new outpatient Behavioral Health Center ➡️ Growth of our flagship campus featuring a new patient bed tower & additional facilities ➡️ Second location for the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, making it one of the only two NCI-designated Cancer Care Centers in Oklahoma Though, we're not just investing in healthcare infrastructure, we're also pouring into our employees, whom we proudly call Healers. Become a Norman Regional Healer and we promise to invest in YOU too!
There are less than 100 days before the grand opening of the expansion of Norman Regional's soon-to-be flagship hospital!!🎉 We are so excited to celebrate this achievement, as we modernize the way we care for our community! Learn more about the Inspire Health project on our website!
Sometimes our healers working the night shift don't always get the credit they deserve, but today we're shouting out one of our rehired healers who is up later than most taking care of some of our tiniest patients in our Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)! Happy ✨Welcome Home Wednesday✨ to Amber Williams, RN! Amber first worked in the lab at Norman Regional as a mobile phlebotomist from 2009 to 2013. "Working as a phlebotomist here was my first 'real' job, so coming back was a little surreal," said Amber. "I felt comfortable as soon as I came back, just as how you feel when you are home! Since coming back to work with us, Amber says her co-healers have been extremely welcoming. It's the people who have made her transition into a new role seamless. We love how happy Amber is with her decision to be back home when she had many other health systems to choose from! "I've been a nurse for 10 years now, and the culture at Norman Regional is unlike other places I've worked," said Amber. "It feels like a more supportive and friendly environment. It makes me feel appreciated and part of the team, rather than being lost in a crowd." Thank you for providing excellent care to our NICU families and for adding to our growing workforce, Amber! It's healers like you that make Norman Regional special!

Norman Regional became a second home for Stacie Boggs during her teenage years when she worked in the cafeteria for two summers. Reflecting on those times, Stacie recalls happy memories: "I really loved it. It was a temp job, but I had so much fun. I made a lot of good friends that I'm still friends with today." Now, Stacie has returned to Norman Regional in a new role as a physician's clerk at the GI of Norman Clinic. Stacie is a people person and one month in, is really learning how much she loves interacting with patients. "It's so diverse," said Stacie, "You meet all kinds of different people. That's probably my favorite part of my job." We're excited to have you back! ✨Happy Welcome Home Wednesday, Stacie!✨
We're partnering with OU Health to bring the highest level of cancer care to Norman by building the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center at Norman Regional. Once it opens in 2025 as Oklahoma’s second National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center, it will provide more precise radiation therapy and advanced diagnostic imaging services, so we can improve detection and monitoring of treatment results. You can read more about the construction status of this state-of-the-art facility, which will combine the full spectrum of medical oncology and radiation oncology services under one roof. It was featured in The Oklahoman.
These little bunnies🐰 in our Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) say, 🌷🐥"Hoppy Easter! We hope you have an egg-celent day!" 🐣🌼
