The Norman Regional Rheumatology clinic strives to create an open and friendly environment for patients—providing excellent care, listening to patient concerns, answering questions and being available for them for whatever they need.
The clinic is located inside West Norman Professional Building at 3400 W. Tecumseh Rd., Suite 202. Sobia Ahmad, MD, and Sanober Malik, MD, treat patients at our clinic. They are both board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Our rheumatology outpatient physician clinic provides treatment, diagnosis and support of patients with rheumatism, arthritis, and other disorders of the joints, muscles, and ligaments.
A rheumatologist is an internist who received further training in the diagnosis (detection) and treatment of musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions commonly referred to as rheumatic diseases, according to the American College of Rheumatology. These diseases can affect the joints, muscles and bones causing pain, swelling, stiffness, and deformity.
Everyone experiences muscle and joint pain from time to time. When the pain does not resolve as you would expect, it may need to be checked out. If you have muscle or joint pain that has not been resolved, visit your primary care physician for an evaluation. If there is a concern of an underlying rheumatic condition, your doctor can refer you to our clinic.
Referrals are required and must include: progress notes, rheumatologic lab reports, X-rays (if done), patient demographics, a copy of the patient’s insurance card and if the patient’s insurance requires any authorizations, the authorization must accompany the referral.
Norman Regional Rheumatology is not a provider for BCBS BVP Advantage plans, Global Health, Generations Healthcare or Integris Aetna plans, but most other healthcare plans are accepted. It is always best for the patient to check with their insurance prior to referral.
