Norman Regional Health System | HealthPlex Heart Hospital

HealthPlex Construction

Please pardon our construction at the Norman Regional HealthPlex. Due to construction, the entrances and parking lots you may have previously known have changed.

The patient and visitor parking lot is now located west of the hospital, just south of the West Norman Professional Building. Complimentary valet parking is available for patients and visitors. There is also emergency parking just north of the new, temporary Emergency Department entrance.

Scheduled patients will enter through the west entrance of the hospital, often referred to as the Women's and Children's Pavilion. Scheduled OB/GYN patients will visit Women's and Children's Registration right inside the entrance, while all other scheduled patients will walk through the hospital to the east side for Registration or elevators.

Unscheduled or emergency patients will enter through the new, temporary Emergency Department entrance just east of the Women's and Children's entrance.

Visitors will also enter through the west entrance, unless accompanying an emergency patient.

During the span of construction, the easiest way to drive to the HealthPlex will be using 36th Avenue NW or Tecumseh Road to access HealthPlex Parkway. There is no access from the I-35 service road.

Please allow extra time for visits or appointments at the HealthPlex. Please call your doctor's office if you have any specific questions surrounding the HealthPlex.

Thank you for your patience as we grow to meet the needs of our community.

Heart Scans

If you have risk factors for cardiovascular disease, you could benefit from a heart scan offered at the HealthPlex or the Norman Regional Moore. Cardiac scoring is the best noninvasive test for determining your likelihood of developing heart disease by checking for calcium buildup in your blood vessels - at least 10 times more powerful a predictor of coronary artery disease episodes than cholesterol screening.

The test takes about 10 minutes and only costs $50 -- and you don't need a referral.

Risk factors for heart disease include:

  • Over age 35 for men and 40 for women
  • Family history of heart disease
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Tobacco use
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Excessive stress
  • Sedentary lifestyle

Today we honor Toby Keith by raising a red solo cup to his legacy, not only in our community but around the world. A message from Richie Splitt: "It's with great sadness that I share the news that country music legend Toby Keith passed away yesterday at the age of 62 after his battle with stomach cancer. Born in Clinton and raised in Moore, Oklahoma, Keith was a towering figure in country music for over three decades, selling more than 40 million albums worldwide since his debut in 1993. Patriotic anthems like “American Soldier” and “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” struck a chord after 9/11, giving voice to the patriotic sentiment so many of us were feeling during one of the darkest periods in American history. Throughout his prolific career, Keith received many prestigious awards and was an active participant in local charities. Toby Keith embodied the Oklahoma spirit, remaining loyal to his deep roots in our great state. He was occasionally spotted walking the halls of Norman Regional Health System and was routinely seen cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners at sporting events. On behalf of all of us at Norman Regional, I extend our deepest condolences to Toby Keith's family, friends, fellow musicians, and millions of fans. His contributions to country music, our community and his generous spirit will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace. In honor of Toby Keith's extraordinary life and the joy he brought to countless fans, we will be introducing “red solo cups” to our cafeterias as a tribute to one of Oklahoma’s true icons. This symbolic addition will serve as a heartfelt gesture to celebrate the man who captured the spirit of community, patriotism and the love for life. Let us raise a cup in memory of Toby Keith, acknowledging the impact he made on the world of music and the pride he instilled in his home state of Oklahoma." Richie Splitt, President & CEO
