One thing about being a Norman Regional Healer is that your fellow Healers will CARE about YOU! It's a sense of belonging that draws many former Healers back to our health system every day! On this β¨ Welcome Home Wednesday β¨, we're introducing you to one of our Emergency Department (ED) Technicians, Katie Dilley! Three years ago, Katie first joined our ED team. After a period away to focus on family and navigate personal changes, she returned, seeking the comfort and positivity of our health system's "uplifting environment." "Norman Regional has always been like family to me and you just canβt get that anywhere else!" said Katie. Katie says she loves her current role in the ED: "Especially since I plan on furthering my education in healthcare, working in the ED has helped me so much whether itβs being able to step in and help in an emergent situation, or just being a helping hand when needed. My fellow healers answer any question that I have willingly and encourage me in every way!" We're inspired by Katie's enthusiasm for her role as a healer and the hard work she provides to our patients each day. Welcome home, Katie! π

It's been 29 years since the deadliest act of domestic terrorism on U.S. soil. Today, #WeRemember the lives lost and survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing. π
After years as a travel nurse, Taylor Elms, RN, decided it was time to find a place for him and his family to call home. "We started traveling with our daughter when she was four months old, so she has grown up in a pack-and-play," said Taylor. When choosing a community for his three-year-old daughter to grow up in, Taylor remembered how much he enjoyed his year working in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Norman Regional HealthPlex back in 2022 and decided to make his career as a Norman Regional healer permanent. He really liked the surgeons he worked alongside and the culture created by his co-healers. Ultimately, Taylor says he was drawn to Norman Regional because of its upcoming expansion completion and the opportunity to help grow his team of nurses and scrub techs. He calls it Norman Regional's "phoenix moment"! Nurse Taylor works on open heart surgery and some orthopedic cases. He says they are busy, but he loves the rush! His favorite part though, is the immediate relief patients have after procedures. Oftentimes working in the CVOR is a thankless job, since patients might only interact with Taylor a little before the operation, but that's okay with him β he loves what he does to take care of our patients' hearts! β₯ Welcome home, Taylor! We know you had job options that span multiple states and we are honored that you chose to come home to us! β¨
